Contemporary Calligraphy Workshop I

The creative masterclass, led by Mihaela Mihaylova Misha Mar and organised for students of the "Graphic Design and Visual Communications" Department at Veliko Tarnovo University "St. Cyril and Methodius", introduced young artists to both traditional and modern calligraphy techniques, as well as sumi-e painting.

Participants explored the use of specialized materials and tools, learned fundamental brush movements and methods, and practiced key artistic techniques.
The workshop included painting various Moon phases with calligraphy ink on white and red calligraphy paper, creating artistic illustrations with Indian Ink, and reviewing catalogs and specialized calligraphy supplies kindly provided by Schmincke and their official retailer Kobalt. The event concluded with a guided tour and a discussion of the exhibition Portraits of the Moon in Black.
